2018 Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace Award Recipients

The goal of the Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace Program is to promote the important role that employers play in supporting breastfeeding in our community. Our survey was initially designed to assess the level of support employers in Snohomish County provide their employees, from the perspective of the employee. In 2018 we also welcomed employers to complete the survey, identifying themselves on the survey as the employer. Surveys were collected from May to July, 2018.

Members of the Breastfeeding Coalition “score” the surveys using a scoring key. Employers may receive Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze level recognition based on survey responses.

Employers were presented their award certificates in person by Coalition members, received recognition in a press release in the Herald during World Breastfeeding Week (August 2018), and received recognition at the New Horizons Lactation Conference (October 2018).
